NFA trusts
in Colorado Springs.
Attorney-drafted NFA trusts for the lawful purchase and ownership of silencers, short-barreled rifles, and transferable machine guns.
What is an NFA trust?
An NFA trust is a legal ownership and planning structure for firearms regulated by the National Firearms Act. Its terms identify who may manage trust property and how that property should be handled over time.
A carefully drafted trust addresses the people who will have lawful access to your collection, the responsibilities of trustees, and your plans for succession. James helps you establish a framework suited to your circumstances.
Why use an NFA trust?
Why purchase a silencer or SBR through a trust?
Plan for eligible trustees
A properly drafted trust can allow more than one eligible, authorized trustee to possess and use trust-owned NFA firearms, subject to the trust terms and applicable law. Naming someone as a beneficiary alone does not authorize possession.
Plan beyond your lifetime
Identify successor trustees and beneficiaries, and provide instructions for managing the collection if you die or become incapacitated. A trust can help maintain continuity of ownership, with any later transfers handled under applicable law.
Establish a lasting framework
Use the trust as an ownership structure for current and future lawful NFA acquisitions, with defined responsibilities and a plan for how the firearms are managed.
A trust is a planning tool, not an exemption from firearm laws. Applicable ATF approval, registration, responsible-person, and other requirements still apply. Machine-gun trusts are for firearms legally eligible for transfer; a trust does not make a restricted machine gun transferable. ATF trust and responsible-person guidance.
